OUR
SERVICES

PPS Fencing have teams that are committed to making your projects as hassle-free as possible.

The relationship we build with our clients are based on honesty, reliability, integrity, and trust.

No Job is too small, too hard, or too big. Our systematic processes ensure exceptional productivity delivering excellent results.

Pile Testing for Solar Farms

The purpose of pile testing is to confirm the ultimate geotechnical strength of the test piles and to provide our clients with information to validate their preliminary pile design on their proposed solar farms. Testing provides results of measurements of axial and lateral deflections of a vertical pile, ground conditions encountered while ramming piles, and any areas of pile refusal and can detect any areas where ground conditions would require a drilled method.  Specific plant and calibrated equipment are used in performing various testing types on piles. Clients provide us with testing loads, parameters, and test types to be conducted and our testing and reporting team documents and reports results for engineers’ analysis.

Testing Types:

  • Vertical/Tension

  • Horizontal/Lateral

  • Compression

  • Saturation

Guardrail Barriers

We install, repair and maintain all types of guardrail safety barrier systems. There are various suppliers of guardrail, and all products are required to meet NZTA M23 specifications and guidelines for road safety hardware and devices. Guardrail hardware is all compliant and MASH tested.

What does MASH tested mean? MASH stands for Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware, and it is a set of testing procedures, guidelines and conditions that are produced by the American transport organisation AASHTO.

Guardrail safety barriers are commonly used in New Zealand as a road safety barrier. This system is made of steel and is designed that when it is struck by a moving vehicle that it will redirect it along the beam, shield, and contain the moving vehicle from hazards, opposing traffic and other obstacles.

The guardrail system has less lateral deflection than that of a flexible barrier system i.e., Wire rope safety barrier. On impact the energy from striking this system is absorbed through the rail and steel posts to reduce energy impact to the vehicle and occupants. The energy impact is greater to the vehicle and occupants than a flexible barrier system but less than that of a rigid barrier i.e., Concrete Barrier.

Other known names for Guardrail can also be described as W-Section or W-Beam.

Wire Rope Safety Barrier (WRSB)

We install, repair and maintain all types of wire rope safety barrier systems. Like the guardrail safety barriers there are various suppliers of wire rope safety barriers, and all the products are required to meet NZTA M23 specifications and guidelines for road safety hardware and devices along with being compliant and MASH tested.

PPS is proud to have been involved in the installation of the largest volume of WRSB driven sockets on a single project in the country. PPS own specialised equipment for WRSB installations and with our extensive experience we have a competitive advantage in our precision and productivity.

A Wire Rope Safety Barrier (WRSB) system is a high tensioned cable barrier mounted on posts with a terminal end at each end of the run anchoring the system into the roadsides or median. When this flexible road barrier system is struck by a moving vehicle it is designed to catch the vehicle and to prevent it from leaving its travelling path and contain the vehicle from hazards, opposing traffic and other obstacles.

WRSB is known as a flexible road barrier system and when this system is struck it lowers the impact of energy that is absorbed to the vehicle and its occupants which is largely due to the flexi and deflection this barrier system provides.

Hydro Excavation

Our modern 2021 Fuso Fighter hydro excavation truck provides for a safe method of excavation around utilities, water removal, debris removal, trenching and is most used on infrastructure projects but not limited to.

Hydro Excavation is a precise technique using pressurised water that breaks down soil, dust, dirt and debris with an industrial strength vacuum that simultaneously evacuates the material. The pressure of the water turns the material to a slurry that is removed by the vacuum into a debris tank. This technique protects assets such as services underground and will vacuum holes to various depths and sizes.

Residential Fencing

We install various types of fencing solutions which can include pool, paling, florida fencing and post and rail. The purpose of residential fencing can be to enhance the appearance around a property, to secure or modernise a residential property or to add privacy. Typical residential fencing installed is commonly built with timber where we source materials locally. We can also provide installation of aluminium, galvanised or powder coated fencing.

Farm / Agricultural Fencing

Fencing for farmland and stock including deer, cattle and sheep fencing, post and batten, post and rail, netting, electric or non-electric and multiwire. If a client does not know what type of fence is best suited for purpose, terrain, and location our experienced team will recommend a solution.

These types of fencing can be made from a wide variety of materials, depending on terrain, location, and design.

Farm and agricultural fences are used for the purpose of containment of stock, protection for stock by isolating areas, protecting crops, waterways, and native bush, and can improve the appearance of farmland and boundaries.

Walls

Retaining Walls
PPS install timber retaining walls of all sizes and depths and lengths. A retaining wall is a rigid wall installed to restrain material in a lateral position and built to withstand the lateral pressure of retaining that material. This type of structure is designed to prevent landscape from collapsing and slipping and to retain the material on the other side that cannot be naturally restrained due to varying ground elevations.

Noise Walls
PPS install timber noise walls which are designed to protect land users for noise cancelling. These structures are a very effective method of mitigating noise pollution generated from industrial, traffic, highways, and railways. Noise walls do not eliminate noise but rather redirect the path of the sound waves to reduce noise travelled to sensitive landowners.

Anti-glare Walls
PPS install timber type anti-glare walls which are mainly erected between a major road and local road for the purpose of deflecting headlights from oncoming traffic. The light beams to the timber wall and reduces the headlight glare. These types of walls are designed by our clients, and we construct them to the drawing technical specifications.

Security Fencing

Security fencing is used for perimeter fencing around a structure, private or commercial property to prevent access and to protect people and the property. Security fencing is often made from steel or aluminium for superior strength and can be secured with spikes or barbed wire on the top to prevent climbing.

"A quality focused business that has produced work to a consistently high standard"

"We confirm that PPS has been engaged on the Waikato Expressway as a subcontractor for carrying out fencing work. The extent of the subcontract was originally for boundary post and rail fencing, but this has now been expanded to include post and wire fencing, noise wall construction and general accommodation works.

PPS has proven to be

  • Compliant and proactive towards the Health and Safety requirements of the project and all the team members involved.
  • A quality focused business that has produced work to a consistently high standard
  • Production focused to ensure that outputs and programme milestones are achieve whilst proactively managing future work with our site engineers to allow continuation in an organised manner.
  • User friendly to both the site team and dealing with our adjoining land owners

We have no hesitation in recommending Adam and Carol as prospective Fencing Contractors and look forward to working with them on future projects."
